Media Groups

Use the Media Groups function to group multimedia documents under one media group ID. Rather than assign specific documents to specific inventory items, bills, and operations, you can assign those documents to a media group ID. You can then assign the ID to a specific operation, tool, or component. This gives you the flexibility to assign a large group of related documents to a process or material requirement.

ClosedCreating a Media Group
  1. Click the New button, on the toolbar, to open a blank media group record.
  2. Enter a new media group ID in the Media Group ID field.
  3. Enter a description of the new media group in the Description field.
  4. Enter the primary file path for the media group in the Primary Link field or use the Browse button to locate the file path. Documents set up as Primary Links are the easiest to access from other software functions such as the Bills of Material function within the Setup and Maintenance menu.
    Note: Use the View button to view the primary file by launching the application in which the file was created.
  5. Enter an identification name or number to associate with an additional piece of media in the Media ID field.
  6. Enter, if applicable, a link file path for the media group in the Link field or use the corresponding Browse button to locate the file path.
    Note: Use the View button to view the adjacent file by launching the application in which the file was created.
  7. Enter, if applicable, any notes for the adjacent media in the Notes field.
  8. Click the Save button, on the toolbar, to save the new media group.
ClosedEditing a Media Group
  1. Select a media group to edit from the Media Group ID field.
  2. Edit the fields as necessary.
  3. Click the Save button, on the toolbar, to save any edits made to the media group.
ClosedDeleting a Media Group
  1. Select a media group to delete from the Media Group ID field.
  2. Click the Delete button, on the toolbar, to delete the selected media group.
  3. Click Yes at the "Are you sure you want to delete selected record(s)?" prompt.

Use the Media Groups List function to view all the fields of the Media Groups master records.
